Error 0x00000002 when connecting a network printer

Printers are used by most computer users. If the device is used in the office, then, as a rule, several computers are connected to it. To make such a connection, a local network is used.

Connecting the printing device, as well as making further settings is quite simple. But sometimes this is not possible and users are faced with the fact that when performing manipulations, an error 0x00000002 occurs.

Its appearance may be due to several reasons. These include:

  • an error in the operating system;
  • failures in the local network;
  • malfunction of the printing device or USB cable - in very rare cases;
  • Incorrectly installed or missing drivers - the most common reason.

Despite the fact that a malfunction of the printer or USB cable rarely causes this error, first you should check their operation. To do this, connect the printer with a different cord and restart.

Since the main and most common cause is the incorrect operation of device drivers, it is the software error that needs to be eliminated.

ATTENTION! For correct operation of a network printing device, drivers must be downloaded from the official website of the developer. If you use the wrong software, you will not be able to correct the error 0x00000002.

Error 0x00000002 is resolved as follows. First you need to completely remove the driver. To do this you need:

  1. Use the key combination Win and R to bring up a window and enter the services.msc command.
  2. In the window that appears, select the item "Print Manager" and the desired line.
  3. The window displays several lines of links. You need to find the "Restart service" and click on it.
  4. Open the command menu again by pressing the necessary keys on the keyboard and enter the command printui.exe / s / t2.
  5. In the opened tab, go to the "Driver" and find the desired printing device.
  6. Click on the name of the RMB and select "Delete".
  7. Then a small menu will appear. It requires you to select "Uninstall Driver".
  8. Click on the "OK" button.
  9. Open the menu again by pressing the appropriate keys on the keyboard and issue the command windir / system32 / spool.
  10. In the window that opens, you need to delete all existing files and folders. After that, you need to restart the system unit.

You should also make sure that the operating system versions of all computers on the local network match. If this is not the case, then you need to download install the required software version for each specific Windows OS.

In addition, you need to check the following:

  1. All devices are connected using a local network, so you should make sure that they did not fly out of it.
  2. Check the firewall and firewall settings. Very often they block the connection of new devices. You can temporarily disable these services. When using Windows 10 OS, you need to go to the "Printers and Scanners" tab and add the required network printer in the window that opens.

Fixing error 0x00000002 is quite simple. However, it is advisable to show forethought. Experts recommend making a backup of the registry or a new restore point. This will allow you to undo the changes at any time and try other ways.
