This is the need for firewood, loading and ignition of raw materials in the furnace. Such steps require the physical participation of a person, and some moments require a lot of effort.
Are there ways to automate the burning of wood in an oven
Progress does not stand still, and the use of new technologies allows you not to chop wood manually. They are bypassed with electric or hydraulic wood choppers. Fuel loading is less common when using fuel briquettes or long burning technologies. One question remains open: automation of fuel ignition.
There are several theoretical versions that finely chopped firewood and pellets can be ignited with the help of a forced spark and forcing air to dry fuel cells. Some of these axioms describe the beginning of the combustion process with the need to use additional flammable products: gasoline, kerosene or the like, and the rest claim that wood products ignite when the required humidity conditions are observed.
These versions are devoid of practical evidence. As long as solid fuel equipment is not equipped with an automatic firewood ignition system, axioms confirming such actions remain theoretical!
The only event that allows you to quickly ignite solid fuel in the furnace of a furnace or boiler is a pre-prepared laying of firewood, under which a wick is placed, they are wrapped with pieces of paper and finely cut chips or briquettes. The cord is impregnated with flammable liquids and taken out of the firebox. This method was used back in the middle of the last millennium to quickly light a large number of candles in palaces and castles.

The use of granular fuel in boilers and furnaces saves a significant amount of resource. This is achieved by controlling the combustion process with the maximum use of the resulting heat output. And the use of special burners allows the economical use of the resource, while increasing the efficiency of the heat source.

The availability of the first method allows you to convert the old stove for briquetted fuel without any special costs. In this case, the volume of the loaded granules will be limited by the size of the furnace, and the burning rate will be regulated by opening the lower damper.
The second method will allow you to fully use the advantages of heating on pellets: rarely load the tank, increase the efficiency of the furnace and control the combustion of fuel. Installing such a burner with a capacity will not take a lot of time, but the cost of the equipment will exceed the price of a domestic solid fuel boiler. Thanks to the automatic adjustment of the ignition of pellets, saving resources will justify the money spent for 2-3 heating seasons. Automation will reduce fuel consumption to a minimum, but the kindling of newly loaded pellets after attenuation requires the physical participation of the user.
IMPORTANT! When installing the burner, the size of its housing must correspond to the internal contours of the loading window! The absence of tightly adjacent surfaces is the reason for the "suction" of air and leads to a decrease in the efficiency of the equipment used!
The ability to quickly, within 15 minutes, install and disassemble the pellet burner will allow you to alternate the use of firewood with granular fuel.
How to control the combustion process
The use of burners allows granular fuel not to burn, but to smolder. It is this feature that makes the installed equipment economical. The speed of smoldering, as in any solid fuel units, is regulated by the amount of air supplied. In addition, the burners are equipped with special grills that allow you to choose the smoldering mode.
The shape of the slots indicates the possible power of use. A small perforation will bring the unit to an economical mode, and the presence of a large space in the grill will allow you to use the burner with maximum heat transfer. The equipment is also equipped with devices for working at medium smoldering conditions.
Air supply adjustment can be carried out manually. Such a method is considered crude, because it does not allow achieving the desired profitability. Using the necessary grill and manual control of the air supply will bring the equipment closer to the desired energy efficiency indicators for the use of granules.
Most modern burners are equipped with a controller with a control unit, which creates the required conditions for smoldering. Such electronics regulate the supply of both fuel and air (or only air) supplied to the burner working area. Using electronics when pressing a few buttons displays the equipment in the desired operating mode.
Given the limitless technical capabilities, everyone wants to comfortably use household appliances for various purposes. The ignition of the furnace, unfortunately, is still not possible to do with a button, even after equipment with a pellet burner. A few more years will pass and the situation may change.
