How to insert a knife into a meat grinder

Despite the wide range of modern household appliances, the meat grinder firmly entered the life of every housewife, becoming a popular appliance in the kitchen. Many users prefer a manual meat grinder, which, since ancient times, has established itself as a reliable assistant in the field of cooking.

With this kitchen appliance, you can quickly grind meat or vegetables, as well as prepare fruit puree or squeeze juice. That's just how to properly assemble the mechanism of a kitchen appliance so that all the parts fulfill their functions, not every housewife knows.

Before starting work with a meat grinder, it is necessary to study its design in detail. A device with a manual mechanism is a simpler option, since it does not have many nozzles and a speed switch. The main working structure of a manual meat grinder is almost the same as its electric counterpart.

The structure of each type of household appliance includes the following details:

  •  Body. The first models of hand-made kitchen utensils were made of durable cast iron, and later aluminum alloy products appeared on sale. Modern electric meat grinders have a plastic base. On top of the body of each device is a meat receiver, in the form of a wide neck;
  •  Screw. This part has a spiral shape, due to which it easily pushes products in the direction of the knives;
  •  Knife. There are two main types: cruciform and disk-shaped. The edges of this part are sharpened on one side for quick grinding of products. In the middle of the knife there is a small square hole through which it is fixed with other parts of the device;
  •  Lattice. Designed to control the degree of grinding products. Some models may have several grilles with different hole sizes;
  •  Clamping cover. It fixes the internal parts of the meat grinder in the case. On the surface there are special protrusions for convenient and quick spin;
  •  A pen. It is the main structural element of the manual mechanism, as due to its scrolling, the products are crushed;
  •  Latch. Fastens the meat grinder on a table surface.

IMPORTANT! A hand-held kitchen appliance is mounted on the edge of the table surface and secured with a threaded lock. It is recommended to place material between the table and the metal part in order to avoid the movement of the meat grinder in the working process.

Unlike devices with a manual mechanism, electric meat grinders have a stable body that does not need to be fixed. This technique does not need to manually rotate the shaft, as its rotation is carried out by the motor. You can control the product using the buttons on its body.

  • the screw-shaped auger must be fully inserted into the device body with the thickened side to the back so that its end protrudes from the opening of the meat grinder and can be fixed there with a handle;
  • on the other, thinner part of the shaft, put the knife, smooth side to the grill;

ATTENTION! When installing the knife, it is important not to mix and place the blades with a flat surface on the grate, otherwise the products will not be crushed, but simply due to the rotation of the screw, they will be squeezed out through the grate, which will stop the mechanism.

  • When the blade is in place, the grill is fixed. A special groove is placed on it, which must coincide with the protrusion on the surface of the product. It should fit snugly against the installed parts;
  • The last step is the fixing cover, which is screwed over the grill.

A special clamp is located on the leg of a mechanical meat grinder, which must be attached to a flat table surface using a screw.

IMPORTANT! In models where nozzles can be changed, when using them, the knife must be removed from the structure, and the grill moves in its place, on top of which the nozzle is worn.

Only the correct assembly sequence of the product, as well as the timely sharpening of the parts contributes to the high-quality processing of products and the long-term operation of the device.

The assembly process of an electrical device is practically no different from a mechanical analogue, despite the fact that the principle of operation is much more complicated. Assembly is carried out according to the following scheme:

  • a metal screw is inserted into the body of the product, which should be turned counterclockwise until it clicks;
  • put on a ring with several holes;
  • a double-sided knife is installed, the smooth side of the screw;
  • a grid with middle holes is inserted;
  • fastens the second knife, polished side to the grill;
  • put on a lattice with small holes;
  • all parts are fixed with a fixing ring.

To prepare sausages, knives and wire racks are removed from the structure, instead of which you need to install a special washer and put on a nozzle, and then fix it with a locking ring.
