Dryer connection

A tumble dryer is a household appliance that is designed for quick and comfortable drying of wet items. Externally, this appliance is very similar to a standard washing machine, except for the absence of washing modes and the presence of drying modes.

There are several types of tumble dryers - these are:

  1. Drying cabinet;
  2. Drum type.

A drying cabinet is more difficult to use and will require hanging laundry in special places for drying (this must be done manually). The process of ridding excess moisture of the fabric occurs due to the fans, which supply air to the drying chamber. Also, the process uses heating elements for the air itself - air (electric) heaters. For this type of dryer, connecting to the sewer is optional. It will be enough to use the standard spin mode in the washing machine or to do it manually, after which things can be moved to the drying cabinet.

The drum type is similar to the principle of operation and design with a drying cabinet, with the exception of the key element - the presence of a drum for things. Such a drum promotes faster drying and allows better penetration of hot air into the fabric. Also, the drum type reduces the need for subsequent ironing.

Thanks to special programs for rotation, things do not crumple. For the drum type, connection to the sewage system is also optional, but it is preferable if you cannot load things that have been wrung out of moisture, and then pour unnecessary water from the tanks to collect it.

Type of drying can be divided into:

Capacitor. Heated, along with water, air condenses on special elements inside the device and flows into special containers. This water no longer gets on things, but is extracted (manually or into the sewer) from the drying process. It is better not to water such plants with such a liquid - it may contain substances harmful to plants from washing powder.

Ventilating. Heated air carries moisture out of the machine. This is the easiest drying method, but it requires adequate ventilation around the machine and can spoil the surrounding area with excess moisture.

Some models of dryers have additional elements - these are infrared lamps that disinfect clothes, an air ionizer - make things safer for human health and others. All these elements are additional (secondary) and only enhance and bring comfort to the basic principle of work.

How to connect a tumble dryer:

Independent connection of the dryer to the sewer and power supply, or with the help of a wizard?

IMPORTANT! If you decide to connect your dryer to the sewer and power supply, you need to think carefully about the installation process.

An experienced master can give a guarantee of the quality of the work done, complete the work quickly and give the necessary recommendations for use, which will save you from breakdowns. However, this will require the expenditure of personal time on the search and order of the master, and will require the expenditure of finance to pay for his work. You need to resort to the help of a professional when there is no idea how to connect a clothes dryer.

Self-installation is an acceptable option, if you have even small skills in plumbing and construction work. The tumble dryer is connected in the standard way: using a special drainage system, it is connected to the sewage system, power is supplied - the installation is carried out in the standard way (install a socket nearby or use a carry). Done.

What tools are needed?

To connect, you need to not only know how the dryer is connected, but also have the following tools:

Knife

Using a knife, you can cut off the drainage of the required length. The drain can be sold separately or go together with the dryer. When buying it yourself, make sure the quality of the goods.

Clamps for drainage

Sold at any hardware store. They are a metal strap with a tightening locking mechanism.

Screwdriver

Needed for a dragging mechanism for fixing the drainage lock.

With such a small set of tools, you can install the drying machine yourself!

This is all you need to connect the dryer.

Do I need to connect the dryer to the sewer?

Modern tumble dryers offer variability for this solution. Sewerage connection is optional. It is only necessary to monitor the level of filling of water tanks (if any are in the machine) and regularly carry out manual draining of the liquid.

Sewerage should be connected to the dryer to increase the comfort of its use. This will allow you not to worry about the moisture that is present in wet things - it will go into the sewer. If you can connect, use it!
