Homemade garage heater

As a rule, in stationary garages there is no heating system. But it’s enough to spend several hours in an unheated room during the cold season, and immediately think about how to heat it. But there is a way out, and it is not necessary to buy an expensive device in the store, it can easily be done with your own hands.

Preparation of materials and tools

A home-made garage heater is really a budget option, especially if you use materials taken, so to speak, on the farm for the manufacture. But even with the purchase of the necessary items you will be able to save.

The main thing is to ensure safety when using a heater for a garage with your own hands. Therefore, we construct a simple understandable design. The oil version of the heater is most consistent with all of the above.

It fully meets the criteria of safety and efficiency and at the same time compact, and does not take up much space. How to make a heater in the garage with your own hands? So, for the manufacturing process you will need the following set:

  • Radiator or sectional battery;
  • TEN;
  • Low power pump;
  • Tools (drill, drill, welding machine, electrodes).

Important! When choosing a heater, pay attention to power. For a small garage, 1-3 kW is enough. In this case, the standard voltage is suitable - 220 volts.

Well, of course, you need clean and heat-resistant oil. It is necessary in the amount of 85% of the volume of the radiator (battery). The rest of the space is needed for air.

Principle of operation and circuit

Homemade garage heaters are connected to the network equipment in parallel. The thermostat should also be fixed on the structure.

The scheme of work is simple: a heating element heats the oil, then the convection movement of flows begins. Heat is evenly distributed within the battery. And, thus, gradually warms the air in the room.

Assembly and health check

If an old battery was taken, it must be cleaned. If the battery is not available, it can be welded independently from steel pipes.

In the lower battery nozzle, we mount the heater, the hole for it is made by a grinder, and then it is bolted. But it is also necessary to leave space under the pump. Both of these elements should not be in contact with each other.

It is recommended to install the design on a mobile (having wheels) stand. It can be assembled using steel corners, channels, etc.

When the design is ready, it remains to check the tightness and add oil. Before the first start-up, it is advisable to ground the device.

A self-assembled oil regulator will become an effective heater for the garage. Its only drawback is the high consumption of electricity.
